I have long considered that what the world needs is a moral equivalent of World War II. With the approach of the new millennium we are faced with terrible dangers and incredible opportunities. If the worst happens, civilization will collapse and bring the end of human history. On the other hand, with our amazing technology and Cyberspace global connections, a vigorous concerted effort could eliminate poverty and pollution, and diminish violence. Aided by faith, prayer and love we could rejuvenate our planet and assume our rightful role as Trustees of Earth ? the miracle planet.
In the book, "Blood and Honor," I noticed that Hitler's evil success was the result of his getting support by massive media attention for half-truths, tainted with deadly lies. Germany had provided great leaders in music, science and politics (and religion, which he neglected to mention). The Treaty of Versailles was unfair to Germany. Hitler attacked what was wrong. But then his lies brought about what was worse. How tragic that Hitler?s leadership qualities were not combined with the character of an Albert Schweitzer. Germany could have led the world into nation relationships that would have complemented and aided one another.
The Earth Trustee vision and agenda can provide a moral equivalent of war.
The Earth Magna Charta contains the framework for action. The Earth Trustee Web Agenda shows how the idea can spread through Internet, with confirmation of successful transfer from the virtual world to the real world of families and institutions. To succeed, we need massive attention, money and action that will get the attention.
